王宇光大學開始學習舞蹈，畢業後進入雲門２擔任專職舞者，現為「微光製造」藝術總監，致力於舞蹈創作與素人舞蹈工作坊。

以身體為介質，雕刻舞蹈於空間與物件間的平衡姿態，並以創作為提問，從自身出發開啟「關係三部曲」計畫：一部曲《捺撇》獲得「YDC橫濱舞蹈節暨舞蹈大賽」雙獎項；二部曲《去你的島》由國家兩廳院及衛武營國家藝術文化中心委託共製，並獲得「FACP亞洲文化發展聯盟創發新象國際競賽」雙獎項，近年於臺灣、歐陸、日本等各地駐村創作，持續巡演於國際。

 WANG Yeu-Kwn is the founder and artistic director of Shimmering Production, a dance company focusing on creating contemporary experimental works, and building up movement workshops for the general public.
 
WANG started formal dance training in university. He was a professional dancer at Cloud Gate 2 from 2008 to 2015. After leaving the company, he has turned his focus to choreography, taking interest in exploring the connections and disconnections among people, environments, and cultures. Relationships have always been the inspirations for his creative works, thus began his choreography project “A Trilogy — Quest of Relationships”. 

Beings, the first episode of the project, received double awards at the 27th Yokohama Dance Collection in Japan and has since toured internationally in Europe and Asia. WANG’s work in progress, Islands, the second episode, has already drawn attentions and supports from international presenters, including co-commission from the National Theater and Concert Hall and the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts - Weiwuying, and residency sponsorships of The Place (London, UK), and Kinosaki International Arts Center (Japan). Islands is set to premiere in the fall of 2024.
