2020年榮獲復興崗傑出校友殊榮，2023年榮獲教育部社會教育貢獻獎。 現應聘於實踐大學音樂系與企管系客座助理教授，及擔任世界軍樂協(IMMS)I亞洲區台灣代表，指導文欣愛樂管弦樂團指揮、龍星國小管樂團，救國團總團部幼獅管樂團副指揮等職，現為實踐大學創意產業博士候選人。

 Chang Hung-yu is a former director and music director of the Republic of China Army Band. He majored in composition at the Department of Music of the Political Warfare Academy, studying under Professor Hsu Ching-han, and pursued conducting studies with Professor Sung Chi-cheng and Professor Chang Ta-sheng. In 1996, he was awarded a full scholarship by the Ministry of National Defense to attend the Graduate Institute of Music at Fu Jen Catholic University, where he specialized in orchestral conducting under Professor Kuo Lien-chang. He has also studied conducting with renowned wind band maestro F. Fennell and Dr. R. Wither of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
In 2020, Chang received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Fu Hsing Kang College of the National Defense University, and in 2023, he was honored with the Ministry of Education’s Award for Contribution to Social Education. He currently serves as a visiting assistant professor in both the Department of Music and the Department of Business Administration at Shih Chien University. In addition, he is the Taiwan representative for Asia of the International Military Music Society (IMMS). He serves as the conductor of the Wen-Hsin Philharmonic Orchestra, instructor for the Long Xing Elementary School Wind Band and associate conductor of the China Youth Corps Wind Orchestra. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in the Creative Industries program at Shih Chien University.
