天狼星口琴樂團創辦人陳彥銘教授為國立清華大學電機博士，目前擔任國立中山大學電機系副教授與電信國際學程主任。陳彥銘教授於學生時期創立樂團至今已逾20年，個人曾獲重要獎項為：2010年亞太口琴節最佳和弦口琴演奏獎，2004、2010年亞太口琴節三重奏公開組亞軍，以及2017年世界口琴節小合奏公開組冠軍。陳教授曾連續七年受邀至韓國首爾國際口琴節擔任評審與演出嘉賓，也長年擔任台灣全國學生音樂比賽口琴類組評審。陳教授亦為「台灣口琴音樂大賽」發起人。

 Yen-Ming Emery Chen, the founder of Sirius Harmonica Ensemble, received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from National Tsing Hua University. He joined the faculty of National Sun Yat-sen University, where he is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, and serves as the Director of International Master's Program in Telecommunication Engineering. Prof. Chen founded the Sirius when he was a college student 20 years ago. He has been awarded the Best Chord Harmonica Player Award from the Asia-Pacific Harmonica Festival (APHF) in 2010, the 1st-runner up of Harmonica Trio Open Category from APHF in 2004 and 2010, and the Champion of Harmonica Ensemble Open Category from the World Harmonica Festival in 2017. Prof. Chen has been invited as a judge and a performing guest by the Seoul International Harmonica Festival for seven consecutive years, and frequently serves as a judge in the National Student Competition of Music, Taiwan. Prof. Chen is also the founder of Taiwan Harmonica Music Competition.
