「壞鞋子舞蹈劇場」以「台灣在地」傳統文化、儀式、語言、習俗、飲食、性格、氣候等面向作為創作/思考的核心；透過在地創作、田野實踐、藝術推廣與教育等方式，深入探索土地與身體的關係，重新尋回人之於土地的連結和情感。 壞鞋子意圖尋找「身」而為人最根本的身體動能，回歸我們身體的源頭與文化，以「ㄢˋ─身體回家創作計畫」作為長期的研究主軸，發展「文化身體（cultural body）」系統，並進一步以當代創作者的思維，讓傳統的律動進行「再創造」，淬鍊獨特的當代藝術語彙和亞洲身體能量。 2014年創團作品《泥土的故事》於水源劇場演出，透過台灣的特性與人民性格所創作的作品，並與農村武裝青年樂團合作，此作品分為劇場版與旅行版，旅行版已旅行於三峽、彰化、雲林、嘉義、台南、台東等各鄉鎮演出11場。 2016年開辦「親近土地計劃」，2016-2017連續兩年籌辦與素人共同創作之《春泥─在地舞蹈劇場》與環境劇場《看見看不見的─依地創作》。 2016年獲選「松菸lab新主藝」創作《彩虹的盡頭》 2016年此作品入圍台新藝術獎決選 2017年受邀於台中文創園區「想要帶你遊花園：民樂交陪藝術季」進行重製 2018年受邀於衛武營國家藝術文化中心「臺灣舞蹈平台」開幕季重演 2019年作品《虹 khing》為國藝會ARTWAVE於日本橫濱表演藝術大會（TPAM）策畫展演的節目之一 同年四月《虹 khing》的完整創作《渺生》於國家戲劇院實驗劇場首演

Born in Yunlin County in 1983, Lin cultivated his vision of choreography through long-term field studies of the local culture. With the intention to construct a unique style and method by using the physical body, Lin turned to theater as a medium to transform and re-create contemporary art.
Lin has observed the nature of body movements through local culture, language, diet, environment, social history and other backgrounds. Having collaborated with the same group of professional and amateur dancers for many years, they work to find ways to exercise the body for the soul. Together, they dance and create, continuing a research and dialogue made to last.
